Our Story
Meet the Maker
Hello there, I'm Mitzie! The more I learned about fast fashion the more it pained me to throw bags in the land field after only 6 months of use. As a sewist & bag maker, I began learning about leather & old country traditions for building heirloom quality leather bags. I now offer a full line of heirloom quality leather bags hand built in small batches in my small home studio in Prosperity, SC. I am delighted you are here!

Hand-Stitched in the Carolinas
My heart is in the Carolinas. Born and raised on a small cattle farm in Catawba, NC and now living with my family in Prosperity, SC, I understand the value of home, farm life, community and people of faith. For my “day job” I travel the Carolinas weekly, meeting the amazing people who call these two beautiful states home. Every leather bag or good from Rindleshire is named for a city or town in the Carolinas that has a story of journey attached. Welcome to the Carolinas…it’s home y’all…Join the list to be the first to know when the next small batch will be available.
Strong
Using traditional old country methods, each seam is matched and then set with a hammer and pricking irons. Using the strongest thread available, each stitch is done by hand to give you the strongest bag possible.
Elegant
First, only the most beautiful full-grain Horween leather is used - the original pull-up leather, hot-stuffed for shine and texture. Secondly, hand-stitches are more pronounced and more beautiful than anything done on a machine.
Timeless
In our fast fashion world, quality craftsmanship is a lost art. Using time honored, traditional stitching methods and only the highest quality leather, thread, and solid brass hardware, your Rindleshire bag will become a family heirloom.
Design & Build
The Rindleshire design style is strong, elegant and timeless. Strong detail is given to structure and build to minimize seams and strengthen high stress areas. I use tried and true leather crafting methods combined with garment and quilting techniques to create the strongest product possible. Every seam is done in a traditional saddle stitch, which means I hammer each hole and finish each stitch by hand. I intentional utilize the beautiful suede of the leather as the inside of the bag. You won't find fabric linings in my leather products as fabric and canvas will never last as long at the leather. There are no hidden stitches, because I want you to see their beauty and strength. My goal is that you want to use your leather bag or gear everyday and pass it on to your grands.
